THE MYSTIFYING UNCERTAINTY OF DREAMING, 2020
A book of 100 pages in A5 format that makes use of American psychiatrist John Allan Hobson’s article on REM sleep and dreaming, towards a theory of protoconsciousness, by juxtaposing the latter with solely archived images found at the
Rotherhithe Picture Research Library in London.
THE Power of cloven entities, 2018
The alphabet tells us an abstracted story of our cultural history. In a similar manner, typefaces carry a cultural and symbolic subtext, shaping every aspect of our daily lives. Each typeface has a particular history, an individual character and special abilities, making typography a key element of graphic design; different occasions and contexts call for different typefaces, to convey variations in meaning, mood or expressivity.
This project was conceived as an introduction to this typographic realm, where each typeface is presented as a fictional character in a 16 pages-sequence in A4 format. Here the Totentantz typeface is associated to The Cloven Viscount by Italo Calvino, and accompanied by scanned paper that has been altered and distorted in different manners.
les meufs, 2018
A collection of illustrations designed with the intent of exploring digital portraiture, through the use of a vibrant color palette.
Each image makes use of the artist’s friends as main sources of inspiration while living in Paris, hence the French slang terminology used in the title that translates into “the girls.” The artist envisions these illustrations printed on clothing articles through the process of sublimation.
